It is derived from Centella asiatica, a medicinal herb indigenous to Madagascar that is used to stop scarring. 100% plant extract is also used to make Madecassol Ointment. There is no chance of a recurrent infection when it is applied to wounds. It works well to prevent scarring if administered frequently, either before or after a scab forms.
